At After School Club we collect the children by mini buses from local schools and bring them back to Norman Court.
We are open from 3.30pm – 6pm for After School Club and during that time we offer all the children a snack and a light meal. Childcare vouchers are accepted: Below is the programme from September 2018.
MONDAY
At Wildlife Club you will explore the estate and learn about wildlife, enjoy fun activities and play games. You will be creative with arts and crafts, build bug hotels, make nature collages and learn to identify the different trees.
TUESDAY
Cooking Club will help children explore new flavours and foods, boost maths and reading skills through recipes, improve sequence and language skills and improve communication skills. Each week we will teach the children to create easy to make recipes, building their confidence in the kitchen.
WEDNESDAY
Art and Design is a fun club which encourages children to explore their artistic and craft making skills. Children will be given different projects to work on such as jewellery making, clay modelling and sewing. Craft activities help with fine motor and creativity skills. Most importantly, the club is fun and a great social environment to work in.
THURSDAY
The Story Workshop is a fun, interactive story session where the children join in and help tell the story, capturing their imagination and encouraging listening skills. The children will make puppets, models and put on plays to help bring the story to life, ideal to stimulate and extend a child’s imagination.
FRIDAY
Yoga is great fun for children. It includes poses to increase strength, flexibility, and coordination. Classes are intended to be fun and will include age-appropriate games, animal sounds and creative names for poses. Yoga for small children incorporates fun poses, games and songs. For older children the program becomes more active and new poses and games are introduced and breathing techniques are taught. This helps the children integrate new skills of self-regulation and calmness into their lives.
At the club, there is always free access to craft activities, board games, drawing, a quiet area for reading, home corner, small world area for Lego creations or using our imagination with the trains or cars etc. We also have access to our extensive grounds where we can while away the afternoon having a kick about with the football, playing and exploring our surroundings. Our objective in the After School Club is to ensure a relaxing, comforting and stimulating environment for the children.
